Sardar sarovar dam is amongst the biggest dam of India. It is covered by greenery and mountains which makes the view more scenic and attractive. Water is surrounded by the Saputara and Navagam mountains which gives a feel of hillstation. Statue of unity is one major attraction over there.
This dam is situated in the Jambughoda wild life sanctuary. This dam has many visitors. It is a well maintained dam with an attached garden. Probably monsoon is the best season to visit it. It is surrounded by magnificent forest which is home to a variety of flora and fauna.
This dam is located in the shetrunjay hills of Palitana. This is the holy place of jains and a largest dam of saurashtra. It provides water to Bhavnagar and Palitana city and other villages nearby. Thus dam has been ingrained by late prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi.
Aji dam is located at a distance of 8 kms from Rajkot at a Aji river. Aji dam is a very peaceful place where one can enjoy bathing and hill climbing. An aquarium is also there to keep the kids entertained. Inshort its a perfect family outing place.
In 2010, it was announced by Narendra Modi to develop Dholi dhaja dam as a tourist destination. Around 60,000 trees were planted near dam. And so now it has been developed into a picnic spot and is popular amongst tourist.
